Meet the Owners
Monica and Marc Jacobi met in college in the 70's, and found out they had a lot in common. Their dreams included family, keeping close friendships, travel, cooking, and some day living in the country. Just a small place, with a swing. And after raising 4 children, and all of their other teenage friends, it finally happened. It took us 3 years to find our special place, but we found it...360 acres nestled in the Texas Hill Country. Wild Life, Fruit Trees, River, guests, family memories, treasures abound, the utter peace and quiet, the beauty, it is truely a blessing. We just had to figure out how to pay for it!!
That was easy, we love to travel, we have lots of friends near and far, we have 4 children, all we have ever done is feed everyone, entertain, and everyone loves to visit the Hill Country. We had these cute little houses on the land, that had been built at various times since the 1920's, and owning and running B&B's seemed very logical to Monica. Marc on the other hand had to be convinced.
Our family, almost all, have enjoyed our labor of love. The houses needed quite a bit of updating, but we wanted to keep some of the old world ambience. Marc our CPA, had to keep Monica on budget. Dad was retired, but helped out so much it wasn't even funny. He knew how to do almost everything. And we loved the free advice, and the free help. Thank You Dad! And Mom, well she was a doll, taking photos, fixing meals, and manning the fort (or their own ranch) while Dad was busy working with us.
Our 4 children are all very gifted and talented. Our oldest son is a Marketing Guru, and we love his wife, and our beautiful grandchildren. Our oldest daughter is a professional Opera Singer, and competes, and performs all over the world. She has filled our passion for travel and food, and gives us wonderful new culinary ideas to try on our guests. Our youngest son, and his new wife have given us new ideas, and tell all of their friends about our place, his business expertise is growing daily. And because we love our children and grandchildren, this is a family owned venture. We never leave our place unattended, because our youngest daughter who majored in Hospitality, and her husband and their son, lovingly watch over the place when we sneak off.
But when my husband asks me where I want to go on vacation, I always say, why go anywhere, I live on a resort. Unless, it is to hear our daughter sing, I guess we wouldn't go very far. We love our place and hope you will join us here some day. Sex sells, in this business, and so we try to make the B&B's very romantic, but we also cater to families, so there are games, and nature for all. We tried to make our little houses feel like homes away from home. We tried to imagine everything you would need or want for your stay, and have tried to make every wish come true. We looked back on every family vacation, or romantic get away, and thought of the special touches, or the things that we had to purchase, because we left things at home that we needed, like music or games.
We would love to have you as our guests. Some like to say howdy, and some want the seclusion..whatever your wish is, this place hopefully will heal hurts, make loving memories with family or friends, and remind you of a simpler time, a time that our parents and grandparents enjoyed.
